Hamlin Music Academy is proud to announce the addition of Matthew Groom to our talented roster of music instructors.  He teaches drum set, snare drum,  assists Marching Band Drummers and other percussion instruments.

Matthew is a 2007 graduate of Mount Royal College where he received a Diploma in Music Performance-Jazz Studies:  Percussion.  He is currently enrolled at UMD working toward a Bachelor of Jazz Studies degree.

Matt has received instruction from Andy Ericson, Tyler Hornby, Gary de Boeck, and John de Waal. 

His 2006-2009 teaching experience includes private instruction and was the Bass Drum Section Instructor for the Calgary Stetsons Showband.

Matthew has taught lessons to further his teaching in Duluth.  He was hired to teach Drum lessons at Hamlin Music Academy in September of 2009.
